Birthday Celebrations - Part 2

 We arrived home, got Lou down for a nap, and set up the birthday girls' "big" presents. Peaches got a train set which had been all she'd been asking for. Boo got a knitting loom, yarn, and also a fun new game for the family to play.

I don't know why Peaches had been so set on a "train that goes around!" but she was super excited to see this!

 

 

 

 

We did some more presents in the living room. Peaches had also been asking for a teddy bear, and Boo was able to get her one. 

 

 

She hugged it so tightly. :) 

Auntie Nae and family got them Uno Attack!

 

 

It is a really fun game!

We played this game with some friends and had so much fun with it we knew we had to have it! 

 

 

Peaches was SO excited to give Boo this stuffed owl she picked out for her.

 

 

So sweet.

 

 

They got Lego sets from Auntie M and Uncle B.

 

 

And wanted to put them together right away. 

 

 

When Lou woke up she was super excited to see all the new fun toys!

 

 

We pulled out the game to teach the girls.

 

 

And have literally played it dozens of times since, almost every day in fact! It's our new family favorite! We highly recommend it.

Birthday Celebrations - Part 1

 Daddy had to go to work early on the double birthday, but he only stayed until 10:30 and then took the rest of the day off. Since he wasn't home we waited on the girls' big presents.

They picked donuts for their birthday breakfast.

 

 

SO happy!

 

 

I let them open one smaller present so they would have something to play with while we waited for Daddy to get home. They had all gotten their schoolwork done the day before so we could celebrate all day. Peaches got Chutes and Ladders.

 

 

And Boo got Connect 4. Bug wasn't quite awake yet. Haha.

 

 

We had Awana that night and wouldn't be able to do anything in the evening so Boo really really wanted to go out to lunch for her birthday. I made arrangements with their teachers to miss class connects and we found a restaurant that was open...in one of the casinos. Apparently they don't have to follow the same Covid rules. 

 

This restaurant's food was AMAZING, but we will probably never go back because apparently you can also smoke anywhere in casinos so it smelled really gross. :(  It wasn't as bad while we were eating, but every now and and then we would get a fresh wave of smoke. :{

We had a lot of fun eating inside though and it was very spread out and Covid safe. There was hardly anyone there, and the closest table to us was probably 15 feet away.

 

 

We ordered and then opened presents from sisters. Peanut got Boo duct tape.

 

 

And a Frozen watch for Peaches.

 

 

She gave her a tackle-hug in excitement. :)

 

 

Bug found an awesome present for Boo that combined two of her favorite things...

 

 

Bath bombs that have squishies inside them once they melt away!

 

 

Peaches got a Lego set from Bug, and also a Frozen puzzle from Peanut. They started putting it together right away.

 

 Bug and Boo got adult size meals to share, chicken parmesan and fettuccine alfredo. We all tried them and both were as delicious as they looked!

 

 

Peanut and Peaches ordered off the kids menu. 

 

 

They gave us two free desserts for the birthday girls! They were amazing as well! A chocolate chip cookie the size of a plate with ice cream and whipped cream on top.

 

 

And a chocolate mousse cake created by a local bakery.

 

 

Too bad about the smoke or it might have become a new favorite for us!

 

On the way home Lou was kissing Boo on the hand. She must known it was a day to make her feel extra loved. Haha.

Lego Party!

I went back and forth, and then back and then forth again on birthday parties this year. Because of Covid I really didn't want to have a big party. 

We finally came up with a plan. Our friends, the G family were heading back to Russia where they live as missionaries so we decided to have them over for dinner and a small party before they left. Then they discovered they were supposed to quarantine for two weeks before leaving the country and they would have to get Covid tests before they were allowed in so we simplified and had a mask-wearing, no food, party. 

It ended up being awesome and felt like a real party even without the food and birthday cake. We did little wrapped Hostess cupcakes for them to take home. :)

It was a Lego decorated Minute to Win It party. We made a poster board and came up with ten games for the kids to play. They all did great and had so much fun doing each challenge!

 We gave extra points to adjust for age and keep everyone on the same playing field.

This one was funny. They had to stack six dice using cups over their hands! Surprisingly most of them were able to do it!

 

 

They all had SO much fun and did awesome! And Peanut was the winner! Here is her prize.

 

 

We sang happy birthday to the birthday girls!

 

 

We gave Peaches this pretty dress. Her friends gave her some really cute Beanie Babies!

They gave Boo an adorable hat with interchangeable pompoms! And a giant Hershey Kiss!

 

 

We are so thankful for these sweet friends! 

 

 

Bug and A went up in her new room to talk. :)

 

 What a fun party!! It did not feel Covid ruined at all. We had a great time!!!
