Boise - Part 3

 We started our last full day with a hike! Thankfully it wasn't that hot, though the kids thought it was. Haha. I made everyone stop and grab a picture before we started. :)

I love hiking and wish we had time to do it more. Maybe one day when we're finished with all the house projects. 

We hiked up a hill at the very beginning and then it was pretty flat along the ridge for a while.

Lou actually did really well and walked a good half mile without stopping!

 

 

But then she was done. Haha!

 

 

I had brought my wrap so I was able to carry her until she wanted down again. And the second she wanted down Peaches wanted a piggy back ride, so I ended up carrying one kid or another for the last 3/4 of the hike. Even better exercise. Lol. 

 

 

We made a two mile loop, and the kids did great! A little complaining in the middle, but by the end they were all happy!

 

 

We stopped and got Sonic on the way back. We let them watch the movie Peter Pan because M and Auntie K had been singing, Following the Leader, and we told them the girls had never seen it. They really liked it! 

 

The afternoon was spent playing outside again while the little ones napped. They made the cutest town with a farm, city, restaurants, fire station, grocery store, construction site, school, and even a Home Depot. Haha!

 

 

After nap we headed to a splash pad, but the kids ended up mostly playing on the playground equipment. 

 

 

This was the same one we went to last year. It's such a fun place!

 

 

Lou loved this swing and stayed in it a long time!

 

 

She also loved the big kid slide and went up and down over and over again.

 

 

We got pizza for dinner and let the kids have popsicles before bed. 

 

 Auntie K had been working on a project and I got to help her finish it up! She found this chandelier at a thrift store and strung all the beads herself. They were mostly wooden beads, but she also interspersed a few beads that came from one of her late grandmother's necklaces! So sweet! T helped them wire it in at 10:30 at night. :} I thought it turned out beautifully!

 

 

It was so hard to say goodbye after such a fun long weekend! 

 

 

Love my cousin so much!! I'm so happy we got to visit them!

 

 

Lou was quite the pill on the way home. She was pulling hair and pinching her sisters. :/  I had to sit in the back with her for several hours to keep the peace. Stinker.

 

 

Our DVD player wasn't working so there was lots of Adventures of Odyssey. The other girls did wonderfully and were happy for the whole trip.

 

 

And I finally got this little monkey to go to sleep for the last hour for the trip.

I'm really glad that we didn't drive all the way to Texas this year. Lol, but I'm also so glad that we made the effort to go to Boise! It was a wonderful trip!!!

Boise - Part 2

 The kids had so much fun just playing together. The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold. They did chalk a lot and built towns.

 

 

We also did some coloring on the patio while the little ones napped.

 

 

And Uncle A and the kids made some gourmet chocolate chip cookies. 

 

 

Lou didn't sleep very good so we decided to run to Walmart and do our back to school shopping. 

 

 

They love back to school shopping! Made slightly less enjoyable by the masks but we still had fun and they got some school supplies and everyone picked out a new shirt. 

 

 

We went out to dinner at a Mexican food restaurant that night. One thing that was so funny and cute was that little M really loved K, but he didn't know her name so he kept saying, "Where's that oldest girl?" and "I want to play with that big girl!" Haha. 

 

 

The restaurant was only letting 6 people sit to a table so we had to split up, and they wouldn't even let us sit next to each other :P so we had a table between us. They actually tried to seat us even further apart with the kids around the corner and we said, "Uh, no!" I understand that they have to enforce guidelines, but that's pretty ridiculous. 

 

 

There were only two other parties there and they were across the restaurant from us. 

 

 

Since Uncle A had been joking about queso we had to get some of course! Lou LOVED it! She was licking it off the chips and asking for "Mo!" Haha!

 

 

By the end she was literally eating it by the spoonful! Silly girl! :P

 

After dinner we headed back to their house and took an evening walk to a nearby playground.  

 

 

Our little daredevil has no fear! She was climbing up the biggest things with no hesitation!

 

 

 

 

And then sliding down the high slides without even a pause.

 

 

 

 

She went up the ladder and down the slide over a dozen times!

 

 

All the kids had a blast and played hard!

 

 

It was a great way to wear them out before bed! The rest of the pictures tomorrow.
