Backstage!

Recital is always such a fun day! Bug had to be dropped off at 11:15 and we didn't leave until nearly 7pm so it was a loooong day! I only took a couple of these pictures. The rest were texted to me or tagged on Facebook by my friends. 

My friend had this old pic of Boo and her daughter and had them recreate it. SO cute! I think Boo was only 3 or 4 in the top picture.

Noni was in charge of the preschool group during the first recital. Someone snapped this and captioned it, "The Preschool Whisperer!" :)

And these last four were actually from a few days before when Bug and Boo's class performed their Jazz number for the high school basketball game halftime show.

Sweet girls! We are so blessed to be part of such a fun dance school!

2nd Grade

Peanut is doing so well in school! Here are a few of her school projects. She was supposed to do a puppet show re-telling of the story of Androcles and the Lion and she went all out and made sets and even casted parts. :)

The story goes that Androcles, the slave, ran away from his master and hid in the woods. He found a cave and there was a lion that had a thorn in it's paw. Androcles removed the thorn and they became the best of friends.

 

But the soldiers found Androcles and took him to the Colosseum where he would have to fight for his life.

When he went out in the ring a hungry lion was released.

 

And he realized it was his friend.

  

The lion recognized him too and the crowd was so moved by their friendship that Androcles and the Lion were both released and allowed to go live in peace. 

 

I thought she did a great job!

Another project she did...she had to chose and animal and make a drawing.

And a sculpture of clay.

And another sculpture made of "found objects". She used a ball, clay, and a remote that she wrapped in paper.

Here is a story she wrote and typed herself.

And a paragraph she had to write on an event from the summer.

It's nice to have a break but it will be fun to see how she does with the rest of the year!

Playing together is so much nicer when Lou can't reach her toys. Haha.

Buggy got to go on the youth leadership winter retreat the other day! She had SO much fun, stayed up REALLY late, and can't wait to go back again!

Walking comes with lots of bruises. :(

As does climbing. :P

Daylight saving stinks!

We took Peanut with us when the girls and I had our annual eye checkups. She has a slight need for correction, but it's not enough to warrant glasses just yet. She was disappointed because she really wanted to get glasses, but Daddy and I were happy. :)

Maybe Peaches should be a food blogger...look at the composition of this photo. She even used a square.

But this one is going to be our little foodie! :)

Merry Christmas!

Twin Babies

Man you forget how much work it is to have a puppy! And this is a particularly easy and laid back one! He hardly even acts like a puppy. The only thing that gets him riled up is the cats. He chases and barks and gets all excited and then is hyper for the next 30ish minutes. Other than that he is super relaxed...almost lazy. Haha. This is how he eats most of his meals. Lol.

Even though he is such a good dog he still had to be watched like a hawk those first two weeks. It really was like having two one year olds. :P

But they couldn't be together unless VERY closely supervised. He did playfully bite her hand on one of the first days and punctured the skin. :(

And her "hugs" were more like squishes...

"Too tight!"

But most of his first week he looked like this...

Sweet boy.

Thankfully his days of needing constant supervision didn't last that long. After the first 10 days or so he became more like Peaches...just needing checks every 10-15 minutes, but not having to be watched constantly.

Now for the other baby...

She'll need the constant supervision for many months to come.
