Leftover Thursday

I took these back in December...we always do Christmas hymns in the month of December (and we have an amazing pianist that plays the hymns for us, while I do the more contemporary songs) so I was singing rather than playing. I took these pictures of the girls while we were singing because I thought the were so cute. 

I guess she got heavy. :)

Papa taught the girls had to sew some doll dresses! 

They were so proud and the dresses turned out great! 

We haven't been doing homeschool class this year, but once or twice a month we get together for a couple hours and let the kids run around the church. It's almost always a string of some kind of running games and it's so nice for them to get some energy out! 

They have a great time! 

 

This was when Peanut started doing her new pose. She cracked me up with this face. 

I made her back up so I could get the whole thing. "I doin' this because Miss L taught me this in my dance class."

Wordless Wednesday

"I Larious!" - Part 14

My digital scrapbooking is completely caught up! I have 4 of our 6 month books done as well our Texas road trip last summer, and also Bug's funny sayings book. It was so fun to look back over all the funny things she said as a little one. Speaking of which...here are some more of Peanut's.

October 26th

We live a close to a school so everyday Cocoa had gotten into the habit of barking for about 30 min. straight (seriously...bark, bark, bark, bark!) while all the kids are walking home. We finally gave in and bought a bark collar. T was pulling it out of the packaging and explaining what it did. "Who wants to try it on?!" he asked. Bug and Boo apparently understood what it did because they both yelled, "Not me!" but Peanut was game, "OK!"

P.S. The collar has 10 levels. The first time they bark it's a level 1 and increases as they keep barking. The first day she had it on I heard her bark one loud bark, then a strangled yelp, and she came tearing into the house through her doggy door. She hasn't barked a single bark at those kids since! I wish I had just borrowed one from somebody instead of buying it. LOL!

November 4th

It was What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up dress up night at AWANA. When I told the girls Peanut said, "A ELEPHANT!" Boo looked at her, "You can't be an elephant. There wouldn't be a job that you could do." Peanut hotly retorted, "Yuh-huh! I could live at the circus! They have te's there!"

November 12th

We were picking up Daddy at the airport after a business trip. They had to go to the bathroom. When we walked in Peanut must have been impressed, "Mommy! This is pletely nice!"

November 13th

Randomly walking around the house. "Mommy I don't text on my phone while driving!"

December 12th

I think I mentioned this one when I posted the video...Peanut interrupted me while I was praying the night before their handbell performance. "And pray for us to do good on our handlebars!"

December 16th

Peanut was upstairs in the hall singing and playing over the heater vent, and Bug was downstairs doing her writing assignment in front of the vent in the living room. When it went off Bug started talking to Peanut through it. Peanut gasped and I heard pure wonder and awe in her voice, "Who ARE you?!?" But she figured out pretty quickly that it was just her sister on the other end. Haha :) 

Baby E - The Squash Pumpkin

The other day the ticker above said the baby was as big as butternut squash. We just happened to have a butternut squash on the counter so Noni and the girls put a face on it. :)  Peanut was carrying it around, kissing it, and she finally sat down in front of the heater to keep it warm.

  

It was so cute.

 

Later Daddy and I found that the girls and Noni had tucked it into the crib. Haha! :)

A couple days later Peanut was carrying it again and accidentally dropped it with a loud thunk. Boo gasped and Peanut looked at her crossly. "It's NOT a real baby. It just a punkin'!" 

You can see the "E" on the head. We've finally decided on a name! And we are sharing it (offline) so if you want to know feel free to ask. :) 

I am feeling a little better these days! Or I should say, I have good days and bad days now instead of at least half of every day being bad. The ladies from church and Noni are taking great care of us, bringing a few meals a week and Noni has been taking the girls more and cleaning the house, allowing me to get some more rest...which is probably the biggest reason I'm having more "good" days now.  We are very thankful! 

My doctor did say that my official due date is February 5th instead of the 9th so we've gained four days, and he thinks she might be a little early! Yay!

"Reading"

Peanut loves to "read" books and I'm often amazed at how good her recall is! We really haven't read this book that many times so I was surprised when she started quoting it almost word for word.

Funny Friday

New Year's

On New Year's Eve we got invited over to our friend's house. We had three couples and eight kids between us. We stayed for about 5 hours and had a blast! 

 

The kids played and watched movies and we all ate way too much junk food! 

We stayed till about 10:15 which is super late for our girls! I think that is the latest we've ever let them stay up (other than our trips to Florida when we had late night arrivals). 

Peanut had gotten a 2.5 hour nap so she was good to go. I didn't stay up for the New Year...I went to bed about 11:30, although I did wake up at midnight when people started shooting off fireworks. T stayed up till 3am playing a computer game! Yikes! The girls all woke up a little after 8 the next morning. We quickly ate breakfast, got ready, and hit the road. 

We had plans to meet Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Nae and family at the Lego exhibit that is going on at the museum in town. 

I've never thought of doing this...Lego mural! 

They had lots of cool sculptures and each one said how many Legos were used to make them. Some of them were 40,000+! 

Some of these we had seen them putting up at the Denver Zoo this summer as they were preparing for their Lego exhibit, but we were a few days too early for it so a lot of them were new to us.

Peanut was so funny. We have our own collection of probably a million Legos but all she wanted to do was sit here and build out of this small tray.  I stayed with her.

Boo built for a little while, but then headed off with the others to see more sculptures.

Daddy came back to get us after everyone was through looking at everything. Peanut proudly showed him her creation. :)

They had a little art studio where the kids could draw.

There was another building of watercolors, but we didn't think the kids would like to quietly meander through. :) The third set of buildings is a HUGE old house built near the turn of the century.

 Peanut really wanted me to get a picture of her turning the crank on the old engine.

 We headed over to the main house where there was a scavenger hunt for various old items. The house was so neat! The details were amazing and on almost every possible surface.

We toured the house and found the items on the list before heading to lunch.

 My fibroid was acting up so I had to go sit in the car, but everyone else took the kids over to the carousel. Two times in one week! The girls were thrilled! :)

 We came home and got Christmas all put away and the house cleaned up. Usually I like to wait a while before putting it all away but it's nice to have things back in order and tidy before the baby gets too much closer! Other than not feeling well it was a wonderful first day of a new year!
