Down on the Farm

We had a free weekend so we decided to head down to the farm.  We hadn’t been there since Christmas! And as a double bonus both sets of cousins were able to come as well! It was a really fun impromptu weekend with the whole family!

The kids were BUSY! I don’t think they stopped moving from the time we arrived till the time their heads hit the pillow! And they had all sorts of fun experiences!

Peanut got her first driving lesson! :)

And Boo Bear got to make lemonade! She had been begging me the last time I got lemons, but I didn’t have very many. Grandma had a whole bunch so Auntie Nae helped her and Waylon make fresh lemonade. We could find the little juicer though so they did it by hand.

And then took turns stirring it.

I honestly didn’t think they’d like it since it was so tart, but they sucked it right down and asked for more!

Peanut looked so cute running around the place in Waylon’s old mud boots.

We had found cheap kites at Walmart the previous week and took them down hoping there would be enough wind. Was there ever! It was almost enough to get the kids to lift off, much less the kites!

It was cold, but they had fun trying to get them to fly.

Bug’s “Anna” kite and Waylon’s TNMT kite flew the best. They were the only two shaped like triangles so we figured that shape does better.

There’s Bug’s high in the sky. Elsa didn’t want to fly very well so Boo got a little frustrated.

But they still had a lot of fun!

Dave would fly up and then would crash down. Up and down up and down.

I never got a picture but Grandma also let the older ones drive her golf cart by themselves. They had a blast!

After playing hard for a while they came in to do a little crafting.  S&E had to paint their Awana cars so Grandma found some wooden shapes for the rest to paint.

Waylon had hidden eggs for them to have a hunt. They found them all, hid them again, and hunted them again several times over.

After running all over the place Peanut crashed during her afternoon nap and slept for three and half hours!

On Saturday night we got to celebrate E’s birthday that is tomorrow!

He got to bring a friend, for the first time, and they seemed to have a blast running all over the farm!

Hard to believe this boy is 9 already! Seems like just the other day he was born!

We had pizza, cake, and ice cream and let him open presents.

“I larious!”–Part 5

December 15th

I was making dinner.  “Peas pick me up? I stav’in’ Mommy! I need pick up!”

December 18th

She needed to go potty. After she did I said, “What a good girl! You get a poopy sucker!” (what we call her poopy treats). She looked through the tin bucket of suckers trying to pick one, “Ummm. History!” Me: “Mystery?” Her: “Yeah! History!”

December 19th

I told her, “Peanut we’re going out to lunch.” She yells, “YAY! CHIP AND ALSA!”

December 29th

She, T, and I were all standing in the tiny bathroom. I got her hair all fixed and she turned proudly to her Daddy. “Look me! I look pitty?” “Oh yes,” he assured her, “Very pretty.” She grinned, “Like a RABBIT!?” T: “Uhhh, sure?”

December 31st

Reading bedtime books with Noni…they read the two she picked and S’s was next. She got down, “No want to read that.” “Ok,” I told her, “Then it’s time for bed.” Looks at me, turns back to Noni and says, “Well act-shully I like it!” and ran to sit down.

Funny Friday!

I do this at worship team practice all the time! Makes you realize how cool the brain is to be able to think about something completely different and yet keep playing music.

Wordless Wednesday

Talent Show

Sunday was our church talent show. First up was the potluck. The girls ate all by themselves at the kids tables. It’s times like this that I realize how big they are getting! I didn’t have to drag the highchair out of the nursery or even sit and monitor spilling plates and cups. They just sat there and visited with their friends and did great!

The first act was Boo and her friend F. They did their hip hop routine from dance class. So cute.

Then a couple of acts later Buggy played How Great Thou Art. She practiced really hard and we were very proud of her!

She is getting so big and grown up!

Peanut was not scheduled to appear, but after seeing her sisters get up there she wanted a turn too! She climbed up on the stage with total confidence, but then got a little shy with the microphone. :) She VERY quietly sang 2 Corinthians 5:31 God made Him, who had no sin, to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. Noni and Papa helped her out. :)

Sweet girl.

We are so proud of all three of our girls! It’s hard to believe they are growing up so fast.

"Dat Funny?" - Part 17

August 7th

Talking about our (then) upcoming trip to Yellowstone and South Dakota and the things we might see. Boo: "Daddy? Do bears bite if you pick them up?"

September 25th

"All I want for my birthday is grapes. And you can surprise me with some other things too."

November 12th

Out shopping. She sees the Christmas decorations and gets really excited. "Look! Look! Nut crunchers!"

November 28th

At Noni's for Thanksgiving. Boo runs into the room after playing with a manger scene. "Noni! It didn't just start with Mary and Joseph! It started in the heavenlies!"

December 2nd

My good friend was over and we were talking and cooking. She brings the baby Jesus in from a manger set. "See!" We didn't pay quick enough attention because she said, "Ok, I'll put him back since no one is worshiping him."

December 6th

We were practicing our Christmas play several times a week and as a result were constantly singing out lines from it at random times. One of us bust into, "Hope is just around the corner! Joy is knocking at the door!" Boo looks confused, "Who's Joy?"
