Game Day!

 

This has been such a fun year for soccer! I think because the girls did so well. It's always more fun when you're winning, haha. I love watching them shine! Uncle B and Aunt M got to come to the games this day so the girls were happy to see them!

 

 

Lou is one tough cookie! Soccer could definitely be her sport.  

 

 

She had been begging T to put her in the goal and was so excited when he finally agreed. She was amazing! Diving on balls right and left! 

 

 

And she can boot it up the field! One goal kick he told her to pass it up the field to the kid who scores most of our goals. She did a perfect kick 2/3rds of the way up the field directly to the kid who then took only two touches to get it into the goal! 

 

 

The other parents were calling her a beast. :)

Next up was Peanut's game.

I really enjoy watching her play! 

 

 

It's been fun to watch her in mid-field this year. She gets a lot more action than defense since she gets to play both offense and defense. 

 

 

I think they lost this game but it was close! 

 

 

 We had an hour break between games so we walked down to the shops. I had never been into the grocery store there but they had these really neat old candy machines that actually still work! You could get a piece of candy for 10 cents out of this one!

 

 

And 25 cents out of this one. You had to pull the knobs out to get the candy. The girls loved it and all got a piece out of both machines. 

 

 

At another shop they wanted to ride the horse. :) 

 

 

Boo found a pair of cowboy boots in another shop and Peanut found a pretty shirt. Then we headed back to the fields for Peaches' game.

She did great and they won their game!

 

 

After that it was back to the big field for Peanut's second game. These two built a pretty sweet castle and the teenagers behind them were impressed. :) 

 

 

The orange team almost always wins, but they gave them a run for their money this year and didn't let them dominate. 

 

 

Boo got a bit of a sunburn which is unusual for her, but it got pretty hot this day!

Mother's Day!

 We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! It was busy with soccer so we celebrated the week before with Grandma when she and Grandpa came over for the afternoon. We got her a cute outfit. :)

 

 

T and the girls got me more fake flowers! I love these things!!! They are so pretty and I don't have to water them! Although I did feel bad the other day when a hummingbird came up looking for nectar.  

 

 

 We had a game night at Noni and Papa's. Noni made homemade hamburgers that were amazing, and then we opened presents. 

 

 

 

Bug got me this really pretty necklace and earring set! So sweet!

 

 

 

 It was so fun having Aunt K there to celebrate with us! She has always been a second mother to me.

 

 

We didn't have a lot of time so we just played cards. Peanut took this picture since she didn't want to play. 

 

 

 

We are so blessed to have so many amazing mother figures in our lives!!

Moses Videos!

Moses!

This year the the school play was funny musical summary of Moses' life. Boo played the Pharoh's daughter that drew Moses out of the Nile. She sang the opening song.

 

  

 

Peanut played an Israelite and later had a cameo as Cleopatra even though she wasn't even in the same time period, haha. 

 

 

Boo's song talked about them wandering in the desert and needing water so Peanut had to choke and die along with a circle of kids. :) 

 

 

Boo also got her toe bit by a crocodile in the Nile, haha! 

 

 

Here is when she found Moses. 

 

 

They did a funny song with choreography.  

 

 

The girls had been telling me that this was not a good play and nobody liked it but I thought it was really cute! It had lots of funny jokes! 

And I thought they all did a really good job!

 

  

 

 

 

This was the "party" scene where Cleopatra walked in. 

 

 

 

 

There was old Moses who was narrating, and young Moses who was acting things out.  

 

 

They did the plagues and then walked through the "Red Sea". :)

 

 

Boo became an Israelite at this point. 

 

 

And I think my favorite song was the last one. It was really pretty.

AWANA Awards!

 Another year of AWANA has come and gone! This one went super fast! Lou had a wonderful year with her friends and is sad that two of the group will be moving up to T&T next year, but she still has some good friends that will be with her. 

 

 

Aunt K and Mama were able to come! Noni and Papa were still out of town. 

 

 

 Sparks were up first. Lou did a wonderful job this year and finished her 2nd book! I can't believe how big my "baby" is getting. Only one more year of Sparks for her. :'( 

 

 

Peanut helped out in Lou's class this year so they got to spend a lot of time together. That was sweet. :)

 

 

Peaches did an amazing job this year as well. She had the hardest of all the T&T books, and some of the verses were crazy long and difficult, but she stuck with it and finished her book, earning her "Excellence" award! 

 

 

 Boo had another great year leading a group of girls. She continues to amaze me with her leadership skills!

 

 

Besties! 

 

 

Peanut was double booked the last month of AWANA. She had soccer practice Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday so on AWANA nights she went to part of her practice and then grabbed an early ride home to be there for her 1st graders. We are proud of her for doing such a good job with them! It was the largest class with 8-11 regular kids every night so it was hard, chaotic work, but she stuck it out and Mrs. J said she was her most reliable helper! 

 

 

They graduated the 6th graders and Boo grabbed W, who has been in her class for the last several years. I hope she comes back as a leader next year! 

 

 

This was my leader appreciation gift this year. :) 

 

 We are so proud of these girls for all their hard work!
