Soccer Tournament!

 Peanut had an amazing soccer season! She is so fun to watch! I really love to watch her in the front positions because she's great at getting in there and keeping the ball going toward the goal, but she ended up playing defense for most of the games. She is a steady, reliable defender and rarely lets anything get past her. She is especially good at booting the ball right back up the line whenever it comes her way. 

For our 4th game it was clear they were not evenly matched. Our best player scored within the first 15 seconds and got pulled out almost immediately. We went up 7 to 0 and then at the half the Coaches talked and since they only had 2 extra players that boy and Peanut put on pennys and played for the other team! He scored two for them and Peanut scored one! So we ended up winning 7 to 3, but Peanut had a great time playing for the other team, haha. 

 These first few pictures are from their last two home games. I believe this was our 5th game. They played hard.

 

 

And Peanut did a great job! 

 

 But they ended up beating us.

 Our last regular season game was a blowout. They were really far ahead so Peanut got to play a forward and would have scored a goal but the goalie dove in front of her and she had to jump over the girl. I don't think she touched her but she got called for a foul.  

 

 

She went in for another score and another kid fell on the ground right in front of her. :P 

 

 

 

We ended up winning 10 to 1. 

 

 

The tournament was on a Wednesday/Thursday. We arrived for the first game to find them handing out awards. Peanut got the Certificate of Academic Achievement for having above a 3.5, and she was also one of only a few who got an All Star award for good conduct and sportsmanship!! Way to go Peanut!!  

 

 

The first game of the tournament ended up being a big shock. It was the team we beat 10 to 1 and everyone was expecting us to beat them soundly again. I don't know if they had players out the first time we played them or if they just majorly stepped up their game or what, but it ended up being neck and neck.  

 

 

 

She had a good game and didn't let anyone get by her.

 

 

But it ended up being 2 to 2 at the end.  

 It went into a shootout and again we all thought it was in the bag. Peanut went first and made her shot! But only one other teammate made his and three of theirs made it so we ended up losing 3-2. :{ It was heartbreaking and everyone was very upset.

 

 

 The little ones wanted to play on the playground for a few minutes before we left. Noni had been able to come to the game so she took them over while I waited for Peanut.

 

 

 

They loved this thing! 

 

 

The loss of that first game put us into the losers bracket so they played the next day at 1. T was able to sneak away from work and come to the game. They were prepared this time and beat the other team.

 

 

They had a one hour break and then played again at 3. As a co-captain Peanut has to go meet the other team and ref and do the coin toss for first possession before all the games.  

 

 

 

She played great again.

 

 

 

I love watching her out there! They all played hard, but weren't able to pull it out at the end. She had a great season though and enjoyed playing with a new team!

So proud of our not-so-little Peanut! 

 

 

I think she's already looking forward to her Spring season!  

Quilt Camp!

 Noni and I got to go to quilt camp! She was asked to be the speaker and T agreed to hold down the fort so I could go with her. These camps are always fun and relaxing, but much more so when you're with the speaker because they get a nice hotel-like room, haha. 

Years ago we had gone to a scrap-booking camp when she was speaking and it was great so we tried another scrap-book camp and discovered the not-so-comfy camp bunks that the girls have to sleep in at summer camp. :P A bad night's sleep combined with the bathrooms in another building cuts down on the relaxation part of the trip, haha. But the speaker gets one of the nice apartments that the camp staff use during the summer so this trip was much better than the last one! 

We actually slept really well both nights and had a great time getting to know all the ladies there. It was beautiful weather the first two days so we would sew for a few hours and then go for walks in the Fall sunshine. It was so beautiful with all the trees changing colors. 

 

 

We walked down the lake more than once. So pretty! 

 

 

And Noni did an amazing job speaking to the women!!! She was engaging and funny, but also brought tears to many eyes! She gave her testimony Friday night and then Saturday she talked about the blessings of cancer. She did a beautiful job and so many of the women came and talked to her about how it spoke to them. Such a blessing! I am so proud to be able to call her my mom!

 

 

 While we were doing all that Daddy was running around with the girls. There was a park outing for the littles and Peaches' teacher was going to be there so she really wanted to go! He said they had a great time playing on the playground. 

 

 

 

But meeting Mrs. A was definitely the highlight!

 

 

Daddy bought them slushies afterwards and took them to Grandma and Grandpa's for a few hours between the park outing and one of Boo's volleyball games. 

 They definitely didn't like me being gone that long and called me multiple times, but all in all they did really well and had a great time with Daddy. 

 

 

And Noni and I had a wonderful time enjoying the Fall weather, quilting, and having great fellowship with each other and the women at camp. It was a wonderful weekend!!

Leftover Thursday

 Peaches and Lou got to go to Noni's and play with friends on piano lesson day. Noni took a picture of them next to her gorgeous Fall tree!

 

 

Noni also got a new set of Playdoh. They had a great time creating! 

 

 

Lou was helping me make zucchini muffins. 

 

 

 

I think we're reverting back to toddlerhood because in the 15 seconds it took me to return the flour to the pantry she somehow managed to cover herself. :P She said, "Take a picture of me and send it to Daddy!" so I guess she was pretty proud of herself. :P

 

 

 

Bug bought a cabinet to be her pantry when she gets married. She and Noni spent a couple hours putting it together on a Saturday when F was at work.

Pumpkin Patch! - Teen Edition

 So apparently the teen purpose of the pumpkin patch is to do a photo shoot. :P The youth group did their annual October trip and Bug, Boo, and Peanut all went with their friends. These are the pictures I got texted later. :) 

 

 

So cute! 

 

 

Boo had a sleepover with S and B the night before and then they came to church with us before the event. They are so funny. They took fake engagement photos. Haha!

It was supposed to be windy and rainy all afternoon but it looks like it was great weather! They said it started raining about 15 minutes before they left. They had a great sunset.

 

 

 

Looks like they had a pretty good group!

Support Dinner

 The last two years I have been the helper for the lady who has been doing the decorations for the school's support dinner, but her daughter graduated last year so this year I was promoted to head decorator. :P 

I had several ideas, but this one kind of evolved out of all of them. Auntie Nae and Uncle W made the wood rounds for me when they were cutting firewood. I borrowed the books from a friend who has a whole bookshelf of green books (her favorite color). I had already planned to do the apple on top, but then a few weeks before the event I got the idea to get school supplies and sprinkle them around like confetti. I thought it turned out pretty cute! 

 

 

We did 13 tables and all but one table ended up getting filled. 

 

 

The girl that was the school's resident pianist graduated last year so Boo has stepped up to fill the position! We are so proud of our beautiful girls and their talents and leadership skills! 

 

 

Peanut has been taking a percussion class and did the cahon and symbols for two of the songs. 

 

 

I worked in the kitchen with Ms. B and on the way to check on the tables for the food I saw Boo in the hallway and she posed for me.  

 

 

I grabbed this picture while they were warming up. The choir did two songs and the worship team did one. Unfortunately during the dinner the mikes had some terrible feedback during the worship team's song so I didn't upload that one. It's painful to listen to, but they did a great job in practice! 

 

 

Boo did a beautiful job playing the piano for one of the choir songs! You can't see her behind Mrs. S, but she's there.  

 

 

And then she got to stand with the rest for the last song. She and Peanut are both on the left end, top and middle. 

 

 

The school ended up raising a lot of money and the students did a wonderful job!
