Not-So-Wordless Wednesday

 The other day during piano lessons Lou was playing cards with Mama and I and she was bouncing off her seat. Literally. She did this for over thirty minutes straight!

 

 

What a goofball! I wish I could bottle up some of that energy and use it for myself!

Pool Time!

 Since our bay had swimmers itch we decided to hit the pool one week! Bug and Boo were at teen camp so we invited our friends to ride with us. I found this selfie on my phone later. :)

These girls are getting so grown up!

 

 

The slide was as big a hit as ever and Lou was it's biggest fan. She went down dozens of times! 

 

 

Peaches did a lot of runs but not as many as Lou. I went down with her at least six times.

E and his mom joined us a little later.

 

 

It was a perfect way to spend a hot summer day! 

 

 

And bonus...no itchy red bumps. Haha.

VBS Round 2!

 Peanut, Peaches, and Lou got to do another round of VBS! We actually ended up trading VBS's with the little church near the big girls' school. We did their Keepers of the Kingdom from last year and they did our Adam Racoon from last year, and since Noni was the one who made the Adam Racoon books into a VBS she volunteered to do the teaching for them, and offered to bring the girls along. 

They had so much fun and jumped right in!

 

 

Peaches said her favorite song was "Trust in the Lord with all your heart" and Lou said hers was "We have the light". 

 

 

This was a much smaller VBS...I think there were 30 something kids. Noni said that was really nice and she was able to get to know the kids a lot better than our churches chaotic (but fun!) 130!

 

 

Peanut was a helper with two of her best friend. They got to do Science. Peaches said her favorite day was when they made things explode with baking soda and vinegar. 

 

 

In the middle of the week the girls spent the night at Noni's so we could go out to dinner for our 20th anniversary! They picked peas to earn money to take to VBS for the offering. They were raising money for the widows and orphans in Zambia. 

 

 

There was a missionary family on furlough from Zambia...the same one who used to be Bug's choir director a few years ago.

Peanut was also part of the drama group that did skits every day. This day was about including others.

 

 

Noni gave her lessons in the town library next door since there wasn't enough room in the church.

 

 

They did crafts and snacks in the basement.

 

 

They had a wonderful week!

Lake Days!

 We have been doing lake days once a week and the girls are loving it!

 

 

There are three other families that come with us regularly.

 

 

We carpooled with the O family this week so we didn't have room for the beach mat but were able to bring the kayaks since they go on the roof.

 

 

One week we ended up without two of our regular families, but with six other families that hadn't made it yet this year! We had quite a crew of friends!

 

 

 

We brought our beach mat that week and everyone loved it! 

 

 

And of course we always have to make at least one good sand castle. :)

 

We are enjoying these beautiful sunny days of summer!

I wish it could last forever!

Leftover Thursday

 Lou lost another tooth! So now she is missing both bottoms and then her usual top left.

 

 

Two puzzle mouths!

 

 

 

We got a new washer and dryer! We only had our other set for two years but it's been giving us fits for months. The washer wouldn't spin all the way dry so the clothes were coming out so wet sometimes we could wring them out. I think that's what was causing the dryer to work overtime...it was taking two and a half dryer cycles to get a load of clothes dry...so the dryer coil kept burning out. T was replacing it every 5-8 weeks. So we finally bit the bullet and went with the expensive Speed Queens that are  supposed to last 25 years, but at least have a 5 year warrantee. Here's hoping they make it longer than all their predecessors!

 

 

Boo was helping with the shop one day and slipped and scraped/bruised her arm really bad on the concrete wall. She was pretty impressed with herself since she doesn't bruise easily.

 

 

 

She, R, and Ms A had a fun girls day! They went to Hobby Lobby, out to lunch, and then saw the new Despicable Me 4 movie!

 

 

So fun!
