Kitten Fun!

The girls have been having such a ball with the latest batch of kittens. After they are finished with their schoolwork every day they are allowed to go get them. Usually they only play with two or three at a time but sometimes they get them all out.

 

 

I am still not a fan of cats but kittens are too adorable! 

 

 

 

They love them so much.

 

 

I'm not sure the feeling is mutual. Haha.

 

 

Jax isn't quite sure what to do with the little fluff balls.

 

 

The little ones like to make mazes for them.

 

 

I always think it is weird that their back legs don't seem to work until they hit 4 or 5 weeks. Up until then they are pretty stationary. I don't know if that is normal or not, but eventually they start using them just fine so I assume it's okay.

 

 

 

Peanut wanted to do a "Kitten photo shoot" one day. These next three are hers.

 

 

She sent this one in for a photo contest with her school.

 

 

All the girls had them out in the yard one Saturday and were playing with them. 

 

 

They definitely don't suffer from lack of human socialization. Haha. :P

Funny Friday

 

Happy Friday! :)

Baptism!

 After church got out everyone headed our way. T and Mr. Jim barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers and everyone else brought sides. Noni, Papa, Mama, Grandma, and Grandpa were all able to join us.

 

 

As well as lots of friends!

 

 

After lunch we went down to the lake to witness FOURTEEN baptisms! The most we've ever had!

 

 

And the one especially dear to our hearts was our own little Peaches! She'd been asking about getting baptized for a while and decided that she was ready. 

 

She and I worked on her testimony and this is what she wanted to say so we wrote it down on a card and she read it. "When I was four years old I had been talking about being a Christian for a while with my mom but I wasn't ready to do it yet. Finally I decided that I wanted to do it and that night I asked Jesus into my heart and had salvation with the Lord."

She said, "It's cold!"

 

 

"I baptize you my sister in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost."

 

 

I loved the look of joy on her face when she came up!

 

 

So happy!

 

 

Thanks for driving all the way out so you could be there Grandma and Grandpa!

We got in one more hour of swimming before it was time to head home. 

 

 

What a wonderful family camping trip and such a blessed day for baptisms! 

 

 

 

Camping! - Part 3

 Besides riding the boat we also spent hours swimming.

 

 

 Mr. Jim also brought ladder golf and they enjoyed quite a few rounds of it.

Of course then they had to steal my phone. :P

 

 

You can't go camping and not have Smores! We had them both nights and used a griddle since we couldn't have camp fires...fire season.

 

 

Our second night of sleeping was a little better than the first, but we were pretty tired! We had pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Food just tastes better prepared and eaten outside!

 

 

And played some games before having a little church service.

 

 

Then it was back down to the lake. Bug caught this pretty blue-tailed lizard.

 

 

Lou tried to stick out her tongue. Haha.

 

 

I enjoyed some more book time while they swam.

 

 

There was another group there that had this cool floating ring. It had a trampoline type mesh in the bottom and they said we could use it when they went up for lunch. The girls enjoyed playing frisbee with Daddy. 

 

 

 

 

The younger three and I went for another walk and found a cool homemade structure. I forgot to get a picture. Then when we got back we all walked around the little "island" (when the water is high enough) and skipped rocks. Then we headed back to the pavilion to get ready for the church family. Pictures tomorrow! 

Camping! - Part 2

 Unfortunately none of the girls' friends and their families were able to come camping, but the plus side of that was they got allll the boat rides! Mr. Jim was so nice and took them out for a couple hours in the morning and a couple hours in the afternoon and they got as many rides on the tube as they wanted.

 

 

I had just been thinking that it was a bummer I no longer have a napping child and don't have an excuse to sit in the cabin and read, but now they are all big enough that they all went on the boat and I got to sit on the beach and read for as long as I wanted! They took my phone and got all these pictures and videos and had lots of funny stories to tell me when they got back.

 

 

They had SO MUCH fun!!

And the rest are videos. Lots and lots of videos! There were some epic wipe outs. Apparently whenever Peanut got tired or knew she was going to fall off she would just say, "Bye." and let go. Haha.

 

  What a blast! It was one of those perfect, endless, summer days!
