Camping!

 We were excited that we got to go camping this year! We missed last year because it was just a couple days after our huge road trip and we were not up to it. We packed our car to the gills. We were all buried everyone had things shoved into every crevice with barely enough room for our feet.

 

 

But it was worth it! We got there early, got unpacked, and set up the cabin before hitting the beach! 

 

 

The weather was beautiful and it was a wonderful last hurrah before school started.

 

 

We have gotten so much use out of these kayaks! I really want to get some more but it seems wasteful for the few times a year we would use them since we would have to take both vehicles to transport kayaks for all of us. It's easy for the girls and I to throw these two on top of the car when we go to the beach.

 

 Bug and I both brought books and enjoyed reading them while the rest swam.

 

 

We ate dinner in the cabin to get away from the bugs.

 

 

Then T and the big girls played some frisbee while the rest of us took a walk.

 

 

We joined the game when we got back.

 

 

Lou is such a goofball.

 

 

We had as decent of a night's sleep as you can get on air mattresses with sleep talkers. Haha. Lou actually slept the best and didn't make a peep all night. She was up bright and early while the others just wanted to sleep.

 

 

The littles got in their swimsuits on right away while everyone else woke up.

 

 

Then it was time to hit the lake! Pictures tomorrow!

 

 

Last Lake Day

 This ended up being our last official lake day although we didn't realize it at the time. Fire season started and then it turned cold, but this was a beautiful day and we enjoyed it to the fullest! We had taken Boo's bestie, R, with us and Bug's boyfriend, F so we had a full car and a lot of fun!

 

 

 They all swam out to the logs and Peanut came back with a bunch of tiny snails! 

 

 

They swam and played and talked for hours!

 

 

Peaches and Lou both bravely jumped off the dock....it was probably only two feet deep because they had already started lowering the lake.

 

 

 It was a perfect day!

 

 

Farewell summer. We will miss you!!

Haircuts

 It was time for our back to school haircuts! Peanut had been saying she was going to grow her hair out but then when it came time she decided to get it chopped off.

 I think she looks really cute with short hair!

 

 

Boo's hair was getting SO long! She got five or six inches off and it's still long.

 

 

Peaches was the most drastic change! Here is her before...

I didn't let Lou get her hair cut because she still has the last of her sweet baby curls and I know as soon as we get it cut they will be gone. I told her to give me one more year and then she can get a hair cut like sisters. :)

Wordless Wednesday

 

Lou Laughs - Part 8

Age 3

 July 23rd

On vacation in Texas with the family. She used to talk in the third person and would often say her and Peaches names before stating something. Lou: "E and D like that orange guy. He's fun." Uncle K was wearing an orange shirt.

July 29th

At dinner Lou was sitting by Aunt Karen. When she finished she kept getting off her seat. She told Aunt Karen, "You turn around," (the other way so she couldn't see Lou) "I poke you and run and then you say, 'Who did that?' okay?"

July 30th

In Colorado at the arcade. She was so excited and hugging all the rides. Riding a horse she said, "Giddy you horse! Go!" and then she had to say goodbye to all the rides. "Goodbye airplane. Goodbye dinosaur. Goodbye ice cream truck."

August 1st

We finally made it home after our 2+ week road trip. It was 5pm when we pulled into our driveway. She yelled, "YAY!!! I want to go to bed!" 

August 20th

We were getting home and multiple people had to go to the bathroom. Bug, "I call the middle floor bathroom!" Boo, "I call the upstairs bathroom!" Lou, "I call my knee...FOOT!"

August 25th

The littles were at Noni's. Lou, "E loo-se her tooth. I'm gonna loo-se my tooth in about 15 years!"

August 26th

There was a new baby at church and I showed the girls the picture of her on my phone and of course they all said, "Aww! So cute!" They asked her name and I told them and Lou piped up with, "Okay! But I'm going to call her Rainbow Den!"

The County Fair!

 Our church camp-out ended up being the same weekend as the county fair so we were only able to go for a few hours on Friday morning but the girls had fun checking out all the animals and displays. I think the big girls lasted a whole 3 minutes with us before finding their friends and going off with them. :P

 

 

How do people have orange pumpkins already in August??

 

 

This chicken cracked me up with it's crazy yellow hair-feathers. I realized later it belongs to some friends of ours. :)

 

 

This one is hard to see but it looked so fancy! She had a really pretty black and white lacy pattern and fancy head feathers.

 

 

The ducks are always so noisy.

 

 

The girls liked the baby chicks.

 

 

Then we moved on to the larger animals. They got a kick out of them. 

 

 

This sheep bleated SO loudly right in Peaches face. It was like the crazy goat scream from the new animated Grinch. Haha. 

 

 

You can se her plugging her ears as they went to this one. She was afraid of getting her ear drums blown out again. :P

 

 

The pigs were hilarious.

 

 

This one rolled over so they could get close enough to scratch its belly.

 

 

They liked the big cows.

 

 

They went over to pet the calf and Peaches stepped in poop.

 

 

Haha.

 

 

The horses were super sweet and friendly. We fed them hay from the ground and they loved it.

 

 

This girl let us pet her horse.

 

We grabbed lunch and ice cream before heading out. 

 

 

The big girls missed going to the rodeo but it was still a fun time!
