Farm Field Trip!

 We got to go on an end-of-the-year field trip to a little farm! This was still during school so Peanut and Boo opted to stay home and finish their work. 

 My friend A set up the tour and we all met there. It was actually in the city but they had one acre and had every foot of the place well utilized. Besides animals and a huge garden they had bees!

 

 

The farmer explained the process of getting honey.

 

 

And he even let them try some of the honey straight out of the honeycomb! 

 

 

Then they went through all their animals and gave us some cool facts about them. They had ducks and geese.

 

 

And lots of chickens.

 

They even had a pony which each child got to take a turn riding.

 

 

The girls loved it!

 

 

I think this was Lou's first time getting to ride a pony!

 

 

She did great! 

 

 

One interesting thing about the pony was that apparently he had a disease similar to diabetes and the farmer said that grass is like candy to a horse! It metabolizes into a sugar so they rarely let him have any. Consequently any time they stopped for more than a second he was gobbling up as much grass as he could!

 

They had lots of bunnies!

 

 

Fun fact: bunnies have 350 degree vision! The only place they can't see is directly between their eyes! This helps them see predators in time to get away.

 

 

They were super soft and pretty tame.

 

 

But I think the goats were the girls' favorite. They were SO friendly!

 

 

They just stood there and let all the kids pick them up as much as they wanted.

 

 

So happy!

 

 

We just had to watch out because they were nibbling on all the kids clothes and even their hair! We also learned that goats have 340 degree vision with their rectangular pupils.

 

 

They had some sweet baby chicks!

 

 

Then they had a "kid" race. The farmer asked the kids if they thought a goat could outrun them. They all said, "NO!" and were so surprised when the baby goat won the race! :)

 

Then the goat went down the line hopping on the kid's backs. Haha.

 

 

The last thing they got to do was feed the goats sunflower seeds which apparently they love! So did the chickens who swooped in to pick up any that got dropped.

We got two big loads of pea gravel for all the flower beds.

 

 

Another day watching our little neighbor while her mom worked. They played school.

 

 

And had a picnic lunch.

 

 

Sadly Avacado moved on to the great fishbowl in the sky so we have some new friends Mac the fish and Roni the cleaner snail. The first place Roni went was the top of the turtle's head. I thought he looked so funny! 

 

 

This was one of her last school projects...oragami. I'm now realizing we didn't get any last day of school pictures. I guess I was not on the ball this year!

Wordless Wednesday

 

Roller Skating!

 Bug's school had their end of year roller skating party and we went with her. We dropped Lou off with Noni on the way...we'll let her try next year! I got Peaches the skate helper and she zipped around the rink, pausing every few laps for a rest.

 

 

Bug had a great time skating around with her friends.

 

 

And so did Boo. Unfortunately her two besties that she has so looking forward to going to school with next year have both decided to go to different schools. :( :( :( I know she will make lots of new friends, but I'm sad that she won't have these two good friends there. 

 

 

Hopefully A will do drama/choir next year. She's homeschooled but did drama/choir this year like Boo did.

Hello summer!

Dance Recital!

 Another year of dance in the books! It was strange to have our big girls in the audience and not on the stage! Both Boo and Peanut said they wanted to do dance again after sitting through the three hour recital. :) We had to be there at 1:45 for Lou's warmup on the stage and 2:30 for Peaches. The show started at 4 and we got out of there at 7:15 so it was a long day but they did a wonderful job and we were so proud of them! Grandma, Grandpa, Noni, and Papa were able to come as well as Boo's bestie, R.

 

 

Lou gets really shy in unfamiliar situations so I wasn't sure how she would do. Sometimes she just flat out refuses to do something when she doesn't want to so I wasn't even sure if she would go out there, but she did amazing! She did not smile at all, but she went out there and did every move perfectly! Some of the girls in her class didn't do any moves, or didn't do the right ones, but Lou had it DOWN. Of course you couldn't tell who was doing the routine and who wasn't if you'd never seen it but I knew that she did it perfectly!

She is actually really good at ballet and knew all the names of each move!

I was in the middle of the row and couldn't get out but Noni ran and got her for us after her routine so she could watch the rest of the show from the audience. We got Lou and Peaches flowers and they were both so happy! Here's Lou and Noni admiring her flowers during intermission.

Peaches' dance was a few numbers after intermission and she did a beautiful job! Unfortunately I can't upload the videos because the name of their dance school was right behind them so T took lots of pictures.

Play Videos!

 Okay, hopefully I have these in order. It is hard to tell which video is which since they all look fairly similar.

This should be the beginning where we are getting introduced to all the characters. 

 

 

I didn't film any scenes that the girls or T weren't in so right here is where the "Lady in Red" comes and leaves a book that we later discover has a diamond necklace hidden in it.

The characters discover the necklace and leave it for Miss Margie to find. 

 

 

They get some help to get it open.

But Long John Silver finds it first and takes it for "safekeeping".

 

 

The bad guys came to the shop when Miss Margie was there but she didn't know anything about the necklace. This was after they came the first time.

 

 

 

And then they came back that night while she was sleeping.

 

 

They threw the books everywhere in their search.

 

 

This was when they broke Sherlock Holmes spine.

 

 

 

Here's where the characters are trying to figure out what to do and how to help Miss Margie.

 

 

 

They decide to sacrifice themselves in order to help her even though it meant returning to their books forever. 

 

 

 

But in the end a woman and her son bought all the books and they would live on through being read as it was intended to be. Such a cute little story!

 

 I loved the end when they all got to dance across the stage. 

 

 

Bravo!!! Great job everyone! We loved it and are so proud of you all!!!!
