Christmas at the Farm!

Right before we headed to the farm for Christmas Peaches came down with Lou's flu bug. It was a weird one...fever, bad headache, and a phlegm-y cough that would make them throw up. No drippiness or any other symptoms. Peaches was on the couch for two full days with it.

 

  

 

We didn't want to ruin Christmas so we packed her up. She was feeling better at that point but still had a low grade fever. She didn't make a peep all the way to the farm. The other three were taking selfies while Daddy and Bug ran into a grocery store for a few last minute items.

 

 

 

Cousin M was down with a similar virus so they didn't come over the first night but the girls got to hang out with Cousin S and E so they were happy. Cousin S recently got engaged!! So they spent lots of time on her phone looking at wedding dresses and ideas. 

 

 

Lou was being a crazy monkey while the family was hanging around talking. :P Poor Daddy the jungle gym! I don't know how he lets her climb all over him like that. 

 

 

 

 

We've reached a new era with the big three girls...they no longer go for the toys at Grandma's. They like to sit around and talk with the adults.

 

 

But they still love to find the pickles! Grandma has 7 pickles (from the German tradition) hidden on her 5 trees and when they find one they get a prize.

S gave Boo a boost to check up high. I think they searched for over an hour! It's not as easy as you would think. The green pickles blend in with the trees really well.

 

 

The dog got locked out of the living room where we were and she kept whining and barking to get in so T started howling and then everyone else joined in. :P

 

 

"A boinga-boinga-boinga!"

 

The girls and Auntie M played a hard fought game of Trouble!

 

 

Peaches and I sat on the couch watching. She still wasn't feeling great and had a low fever. Thankfully the next morning, Christmas Eve, she woke up feeling much better!

 

 

 

Round 2.

 The girls have so much fun with Cousin S! They didn't want to think about the fact that next time we're together for Christmas she will be married and not bunking with the girl cousins! She said she'd make her husband sleep with the boy cousins so she could still be in there. We'll see if she feels differently when the time comes. Haha!

 

 

 We put these two in the back room and not with the others so they wouldn't spread germs all night. It's a good thing we did because they coughed ALL night long the three nights we were there. They kept waking T and I up with their duet coughing fits, but thankfully they were feeling much better during the day!

Baby E!

 On the day before they left Uncle J, Auntie H, and Baby E came over to see our house. We were able to give E some Christmas presents and she entertained us all with her sweet smiles!

 

Babies are so much fun!

 

 

It was so nice to be able to sit and visit with them! I just wish we lived closer!

 

 

She is so darn cute!

 

 

We were very blessed to have sweet cousin time! We can't wait to do it again!

Christmas Piano Recital

 While Uncle J, Aunt H, Baby E were here Noni had the girls put on a little recital. Here are all the videos.

I am so impressed with how well each of them are doing! They are all so talented!

 

 

Lou's music got misplaced when we arrived so she and Noni tried to work out Silent Night without it. 

 

 

Noni has done such an amazing job teaching these girls to play! 

 

 

We are so blessed by their music!

Cousin Fun!

 The girls were so excited to learn that Uncle J, Auntie H, and Baby E were coming for a Christmas visit!

 

 

 She is such a sweetie and gives lots of smiles!

 

 

Lou was so happy! She loves babies. 

 

 

Baby E is already crawling and pulling up on things. She has changed a lot since we saw her this summer!

 

 

 

We got to see them on three different days. She really loved when the girls played peek-a-boo with her.

 

 

Peanut made it her mission to make friends with the baby and the dog and she accomplished both. :)

 

 

So sweet!

Christmas Elves!

 It took a few trips to Walmart pickup to acquire all the ingredients for our muddy buddies since they limit quantities but I finally gathered enough for 36 batches so we could make the annual treats for Daddy's hospital workers.

 

 

The morning we woke up to make them we had breakfast and were ready to get started when the power went out. :P Daddy got out one of the new Christmas Lego sets and they did that for a couple hours while we waited for it to come back on.

 

 

Thankfully it came back on by 11:30 and we started baking...and dancing to Christmas music. Careful when you dance with Daddy! You just might end up in a pile on the floor! :P

This gets easier and easier every year! Even Lou was a big help this year and we finished 150 treat bags in just over two hours. 

 

 

Jax got to help too by licking the empty peanut butter jars. Haha.

 

 

A few days later we donned our Christmas gear and took them up to the hospital to spread some Christmas cheer! 

 

 

This is their favorite office...the one with pretend snowballs for snowball fights! :) 

 

 

They had a blast pelting these sweet ladies with snowballs. Haha.

 

 

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is...bringing treats for all to share! :)
