The girls had another check up - seems like that was a lot quicker than 6 months since we had 2 extra appointments last time. Thankfully, unlike their previous appointment, they were all cavity free!
Lou was super brave this time and did everything that was asked of her! She even got her x-rays done and was perfectly still! She hopped right up in the chair with no hesitation and opened her mouth wide for cleaning.
Noni was able to come with us for the first time in two years and the girls loved having her back! Bug had youth leadership right after, which Noni was speaking at, so they left as soon as Bug was checked to get to that.
Peaches INSISTED on wearing this dance outfit even though it was not warm out and she got lots of compliments on how sparkly she was and questions about doing dance. :)
Noni brought us back two dozen fresh-made tortillas from my favorite little Mexican restaurant in Texas and we used the air fryer to turn them into sopapillas! They weren't quite like the "real" thing, but they were pretty darn close!
Our weather has been crazy lately. One day it will be sunny and 60 and the next it will be snowing. :P I'm ready for Spring to kick Winter to the curb for good!
When she was in Texas, Noni and Pawpaw found this adorable pic from Uncle S's wedding. Baby Peanut!!
The other day I was thinking...you know one day laundry day will be like three loads of laundry and then done. I won't always have piles and piles and eight or more loads at a time to do. I really don't mind doing laundry so I suppose it will be one of those things I truly do miss when they're all grown up!
Every weekend we've been working on reducing our burn piles from 6 years of demo and construction, and I'm happy to say they are pretty much gone! This particular day Jax wanted to help out.
Haha.
Noni put her trampoline up! They girls were so happy! Spring must officially be here!
The other day Daddy had a conference that wasn't too far away and his registration came with a hotel stay...or as Lou and Peaches were calling it, "The Shotel" I had already cleared all the girls to be gone from school because Bug and Boo had orthodontist appointments the next morning so we decided why not make the drive and go stay with Daddy!
After Peaches dance class we met for dinner and then she, Daddy, and Lou headed to the hotel while I took the big girls to their dance classes.
Lou is so funny. Most of the time she is just in her own little world. She was dancing to the music in her chair since Daddy wouldn't let her get up and dance in the restaurant. :P
He quickly realized Lou had never been on an elevator before! Our Covid baby has missed out on a lot of experiences! We'll have to catch her up!
Later she told me all about, "the el-a-va-lator that goes UP and DOWN!"
Daddy took them into the conference room where they got cookies. :)
We joined them after dance and tried to get everyone settled for the night since it was after 9pm. Lou got the closet.
The big girls shared one of the King sized beds.
And Peaches got a corner of the floor.
Peaches had a bad cough so we didn't get a lot of sleep the first night, but it wasn't horrible. The next day we got up, got McDonalds for breakfast (a special treat for us living-in-the-country girls) and went to the orthodontist where Bug had her official last check, and Boo got fitted for her retainer! Almost done! I've been super impressed with the whole Ivisalign process. After that we grabbed lunch, got Bug to school and ran home for naps and Boo and Peanut's school work. Then once Bug got home from school we headed back to the hotel.
Our little daredevil girl ran in and grabbed onto the safety rail every time we got on the elevator.
But she wasn't too nervous to smile!
We changed into swimsuits and hit the pool! It was our first time swimming since last Fall!
I was afraid the little ones would have regressed in their swimming but they both hopped in and motored around the pool with their life jackets!
They had so much fun swimming!
The water wasn't terribly warm so everyone but Peanut quickly abandoned the pool for the hot tub.

I got in with Peanut, knowing I would never get in the pool if I got in the hot tub first and everyone else joined us to splash, race, and dive for rings for nearly an hour before a final soak in the hot tub.

Lou was tired after all that swimming!
This hotel had a cool safari theme with statues and African animals everywhere.
We picked up pizza, pasta, and salad from one of our favorite places and took it back to the hotel to eat. It was 8pm at that point but everyone did great and went right to bed when asked.
We had to be up by 6:45 the next morning to get up and get Bug to school, but no one complained. We got breakfast on the way so that helped. :) The little ones were cranky for a few days afterwards since we didn't get our usual amount of sleep, but overall I'd say it was a great success and a wonderful mini-vacay!
The other day Daddy had to make a quick run out to Grandma and Grandpa's to pick up a new tractor attachment that Grandpa built for him. Boo and Peaches had doctor's appointments for their yearly checkups but Lou and Peanut were able to ride along. These are the pictures I got throughout the day. :)
They got to stop for lunch at one of our favorite sandwich places!
Peanut got to do some baking with Grandma while Lou played. On the way home they stopped at a farm store and got to see all the Spring babies!
SO happy!
I guess you aren't technically allowed to hold the babies but we have a friend that works there and she let them.

But it was little too much for Lou and she was out before she made it home. Haha.
Amazingly she went back to sleep and actually took a decent nap after arriving home...that never happens! Happy day! :)
I am so sick of sickness! Ugh. When is it going to end?!
Lou is pretty sick of it too.
She was pretty miserable with this one. Peaches had a drippy nose and watery eyes for about 12 hours so I didn't think it would hit Lou very hard either, but she was down for days and completely miserable. She was coughing so hard she had tiny little dots all around her eyes from broken blood vessels. :( You can't really see them in the picture.
She went through an entire box of tissues.
All she wanted to do was watch Cocomelon and she would cry pitifully if I said no.
Daddy kept saying, "Are you feeling better yet?" and she would give him a scowl and shake her head no. :P
I applied about a hundred coats of chapstick to her raw little nose, but she just kept wiping it off.
