Surgery

I had been having a lot of headaches so when I went to my annual dr's appointment he ordered some blood work. My numbers/hormones were a bit off so then he ordered an ultrasound, and they discovered I had another fibroid, 4 cm this time. He said it was likely I would just keep getting them and if we were done having kids he would like to go ahead and do a hysterectomy. It didn't sound too urgent and I figured with surgery schedules backed up because of Covid it would likely be a few months, but I was surprised to find that he was able to squeeze me in for early January.

I made a bunch of freezer meals and cleaned out a few areas of the house that I'd been putting off and the surgery came up quick. I was a little worried about the long recovery time that everyone predicted but it ended up not being as bad as I thought. Thankfully Noni was able to take the girls for almost a full week so that helped SO much!!!

I literally did not leave our master bedroom/bathroom for five days straight. Most of the time I just slept and when I was awake enough I watched movies. I didn't read those first few days because I needed something more to take my mind off how I was feeling. I wasn't in terrible pain, just very uncomfortable, and nauseous. I was hardly able to eat anything the first few days. The first day everything literally tasted like dust. I wasn't able to swallow more than a bite of anything. Then for about a week everything tasted so strong I couldn't eat. Anything sweet tasted sweet x 100 and anything savory was the same. Thankfully that didn't last past the first week.

The recovery was very similar to my emergency c-section with Peanut. I had three incisions in my stomach that were sore for several weeks. I had to be really careful that the little ones didn't touch them once they got home. :P I'm so thankful Noni was able to keep them so long to give me a chance to get over the worst of it.

They had a blast at her house and she sent me lots of pictures!

Sensory play.

Peaches face...haha.

Handstand practice.

:)

This was Noni's toybox when she was little! It was made for her by her "Pampa". They loved hearing the stories about him. He was a mechanic and was such a sweet man! Noni said he always had peanut brittle and a nickle in his pocket for her and started her love for puzzles. His handiwork has held up well through three generations! I remember playing in there just like this when I was little.

Boo and Peanut proudly told me that they got their own room that week.

Abby was allowed in though. :)

Abby also got a bath and a lot of attention!

Big helpers!

Here are some drawings from one of their devotions. This one was on taming the tongue.

Star lift!

Hair salon!

Grocery lists.

Peanut sent me this...her and Mama's score after a game of 3 to 13.

Meanwhile I was doing this and not much else.

Queso became my new best friend that week. :P

By day 5 I finally made it to the couch, and went back and forth from there for another week.

A million thank yous for loving on the girls and making their week great Noni!!!!

Pottery!

Auntie N and Uncle M got the girls gift certificates for our local pottery place for Christmas so they were super excited to go this year! We wanted to go on New Year's Day like we did last year but we were all still sick from Christmas so we waited until the next weekend. We made our traditional Sonic stop first!

We usually limit them to $10-15 but with the gift cards they were able to pick some bigger items this year. T and I did a nativity set.

Lou picked this D right away.

Bug chose two little penguins.

I think this thing had about twenty coats. :)

Noni and Boo painted some garden makers and Boo also did an ornament.

Peaches did a "Nina-corn" piggy bank.

And Peanut did a little elephant plant holder and an ornament for Buddy.

The little ones finished before everyone else and were getting into everything so I gave up and gave them my phone.

After we finished we headed to the mall for lunch.

And then to Barnes and Noble where they had gift cards from Uncle J and Aunt H. The little ones had never been there before and I think they could have stayed all day! The children's section is so fun!

They all found some deals and came away with quite the haul! Lou and I read her books at least twenty times over the next week. :P

And here is our finished pottery! Nice job everybody!

Vidoes

Every night Lou says, "Mommy you pray me? And rocks? Lotta rocks? And lullaby?" I got these videos in the dark when she was singing. So sweet.

I'm thankful my last baby loves to rock!

Every morning...

This was on the way home from Noni's one afternoon. It was past nap time and she kept falling asleep so I rolled down the windows. That kept her awake! She is just like the others...if she falls asleep in the car for even five minutes naptime is totally ruined!

Speaking of Noni's...this is one day when we told her she was going to Noni's.

And I just grabbed this one when she was playing one day. Love this girl.

Happy Saturday!

Leftover Thursday

Bug had a spirit week at school and one of the days was "Prom" so she wore my old bridesmaid dress from Uncle B and Aunt M's wedding! She looked so pretty and grown up!

Her school offered a self-defense class one Saturday, taught by a police officer. I wasn't able to take them so Noni took the three big girls for us. They learned a lot! Thanks Noni!

Being silly in her adorable new dress from Grandma and Grandpa!

We have a baby boom at church! Four babies right now and another on the way! Lou loves it.

T ordered me this Christmas present in November and it finally arrived in late January! A rocking bench! I love it!

We will get so much use out of this!

I bought Peanut blue light glasses because she had been complaining of her eyes hurting during school. Lou stole them one night while she was eating her bedtime banana. :)

3 or 30? :)

Happy Thursday! :)
