Leftover Thursday

I never posted this picture but this is a typical day with Peanut. She hardly ever sits "normally" during schoolwork. Good thing she's not in a traditional classroom. Haha.

Noni dropped something off the other day and later the girls were happy to find this in the garage. Peanut wrote back even though Noni wouldn't see it. :)

 

On the way to Grandma and Grandpa's for the 4th Peanut had to go to the bathroom so bad that we had to stop. There was a little shop called Hello Sugar. I don't think I will ever get used to the whole new "normal" of wearing masks and standing in certain spots. 

  

We had never been there before, and there were no pictures or donuts visible so I just ordered a dozen thinking they were a really cheap price. I was surprised when she handed us the smallest donut box I've ever seen with the cutest little donuts ever! I didn't think they actually tasted all that great...pretty much a donut you'd get in a prepackaged bag at the gas station, but A+ for adorableness!

T found this the other day and said it was a perfect description of Life in 2020. Lol!

Wordless Wednesday

Lake Days

Since there is not a lot to do this summer we have been going to the lake once or twice a week. The girls haven't complained though. They love lake days! They don't even make a fuss when we have to leave earlier than their friends even though I know they would rather stay longer. Maybe next year it won't be as critical for Lou to get her nap. If we miss it now it makes for a rough evening, but they've been really sweet and understanding about it. They just play their hearts out as long as we are there.

 

So happy!

 

This was the first day the S family came and they had so much fun!

They swim and dig and build and then start the process over again.

This was a Saturday so Daddy was able to join us for the first time. It was nice to take a short break away from the house.

Even the big girls helped! 

These last two pictures are from another day. Week days are definitely less crowded. 

We're going to soak up every last drop of summer that we can! It's already going way too fast! 

Thirty-eight

I had a wonderful birthday this year! T took a couple days off and we were able to get a lot done on the house. We started off the day with sweet homemade cards from the girls, and Daddy's specialty omelets.  

Peanut made me a little embroidery piece that said Happy Birthday. :) 

So sweet. 

We worked on the house all morning and then took a break to have Mexican food for lunch! The girls told Senor P that it was my birthday so he brought me fried ice cream. Thankfully I didn't have to wear the sombrero. Haha. 

That afternoon we kept working. Bug made me an earthquake cake! Peaches had to give it the sniff test. Lol. 

We made some good progress with the siding. 

 

Noni and Papa surprised me with my favorite Sonic drink! Which means they drove for an hour just to bring it to me and then had to drive home! So sweet! 

 

Bug outdid herself with chicken fried steak fingers made in the air fryer! They were delicious! 

T also grilled some corn on the cob, our first of the season.

And we ended the evening by playing Yahtzee. Peaches doesn't really know how to play but she will roll her dice until they are all the same and yell "YAHTZEE!" Lou wanted to get in on the excitement too. Haha! 

It was a wonderful birthday! 

The next day was our anniversary and we spent the day working. Even with all the work it was a great weekend and so fun to see so much progress on the house. 

Our friends, the O family, brought us a huge box of strawberries they'd just picked! I grabbed enough to make a double batch of jam and the rest were promptly eaten!

 Yum yum!

Even with all the craziness in the world right now thirty-eight is shaping up to be a pretty good year!

Beach Day!

So far we have had a super mild summer weather-wise, but one day in June it got up to almost 90 so my friend and I decided to take our girls to the beach! I forgot how beautiful it is down there!

It may have been hot out but the water sure was cold! But that didn't stop Boo and Peanut from going right in! 

There were lots of shrieks and squeals but they did it. And then came running back out as fast as they could go. Haha!

 

 

There's not much Lou likes better than digging in the dirt so she had a blast too!  

 

She busily toddled around finding shovels and digging. 

 Unfortunately she ate a LOT of sand. :P 

The girls were so happy to see their friends again after months apart.

They started a sandcastle contest.

 

Peaches was really brave and went right out in the water with her lifejacket. That's a big improvement as it usually takes a few weeks to get used to the water again every summer. 

Bug gathered up her courage and decided to go for it. 

It really was cold! I didn't go more than a foot in!

You can see it wasn't crowded. There were only two other families there and we were a good 50ft. apart.

We stayed for over two hours before having to head home for Lou's nap. 

But they managed to get a pretty good castle with a moat built before we left. They are looking forward to many more such days this summer!
