These pictures are not very good because it was pretty dark...Mama's church had a journey through Bethlehem event with a live petting zoo a few nights before Christmas so we packed up the girls and headed in to town.
They did a really good job! They cleared out their sanctuary and brought in a bunch of tents. Each one was set up with a different "shop". There was the bakery, a carpenter, a scribe, an artist, metal works, and I can't remember what else.
The girls had fun in the "bakery" making unleavened bread. They even had a portable oven there and were able to bake it for them. All the volunteers were dressed up and made everything fun.
Noni helped Peaches with hers. :)
The girls enjoyed painting a nativity scene.
They also got to use real quill and ink to write Jesus in Hebrew!
The last section was where Mary and Joseph were. They told how they had come and found no room, and then they let each child hold the baby Jesus.
The petting zoo would have been my favorite part if it wasn't so cold out. It was in the teens and 90% of my pictures were blurry because my hands were shaking so bad from the cold.
The girls loved the animals! They had all sorts: cow, pig, goat, sheep, llama, donkey, goose, bunnies, and more!
Peaches loved animals and wanted to squeeze them all. We let them pet a few and then headed for the car. I felt bad for the animals and the people who had to stand out in the below freezing temps.
Even with the cold it was a fun night!
