Valentine’s Day

We had a great day celebrating Valentine’s day with our three little loves. First up was heart shaped blueberry scones.

Then Valentine’s presents from Daddy. He got them notebooks, candy, and pencils.

I spent the day working on organizing the basement remodel mess, and T built me some shelving for my tubs in the basement.

Peanut kept finding things in the mess. :)

After naptime we headed in to have dinner with a bunch of the extended family. I think there were 17 of us! We didn’t get to visit much in the busy restaurant, but we had a good time, and it was our favorite Chinese restaurant. Here’s Noni with her valentines. :)

Sun!

About a month ago T texted and asked me if I wanted to go to Phoenix. The date was only three weeks away but I called Noni and asked if she might be able to watch the girls for four nights. She said yes!

K and I got some extra schoolwork done so she could have the three days off and S missed her preschool, but got to go one day with Noni.

T and I had an amazing time! It was SO nice to be warm and in the sunshine!

We went down on Saturday afternoon, got our rental car, checked into our hotel, and headed to dinner with three of our college friends. We got to see their house and meet their sweet new baby and adorable 4 year old.

Sunday we slept in, did some shopping, and then picked up T’s coworker Jen at the airport. We took her to In and Out since she had never been there. Yum. Then they dropped me off at the hotel and went to the first session of the conference. I had to deal with this hardship…

Yep, I sat there soaking up the sun while they had to listen to speakers and presentations. I did workout for an hour though before they got back. :)

After they got back and changed out of their business clothes, and then we headed just across the highway to an Ikea! Our closest one is 4+ hours away so it’s a treat to get to shop there. We walked around the whole place for over two hours.

Then we took Jen to The Cheesecake Factory. Double yum.

The next day they left early to their conference and I tried to sleep in a bit. The walls were a bit too thin in the hotel for a good sleeping in, but I did my best. :) Then I headed to the pool and soaked up some more sun while I waited for them.

They picked me up and we went to lunch at Chik-Fil-A, and we got some great news that they are starting to make their way North! The manager said there is one going up in Oregon, with plans to come to Washington soon. Yay!!

After their lunch break they dropped me back off and I spent the afternoon at the pool, and working out again. SO nice!

That night we went to California Pizza Kitchen and the did a little shopping at the mall…excuse me “Fashion Park”. Apparently they aren’t “malls” in Arizona. :)

The next day was another morning at the pool. Can’t complain!

And I got the fun surprise of a phone call from T’s Aunt C who lives in Oregon, but happened to be in Phoenix as well! T’s conference had a lunch so he couldn’t leave anyway, so Aunt C picked me up and we went to lunch at Olive Garden, and then did some shopping at the “Fashion Park”. I got a cute new swimsuit for K, an outfit for S, and a dress for A. It was really fun to catch up!

T and Jen got done early that day so we all sat around the pool together talking for a while and then headed to a different Fashion Park and saw a movie. There really wasn’t anything that appealed to us so we saw Night At The Museum 3. It was really cute. There was a Rainforest Café right next to the movie theater and we had never been so we gave it a try.

It was…interesting. Haha :) It was quite exciting, but very LOUD. It was hard to talk with the elephants trumpeting and the gorillas making all sorts of noise. The girls probably would have loved it! Except that when we walked in a cheetah above our heads roared at us, and a “storm” went off every twenty minutes so they might have been too terrified to eat. Especially Boo!

The next morning the conference started really early so they headed out for the first two sessions and then T took Jen to the airport while I soaked up every last bit of sun that I could. I didn’t want to leave the pool for the airport, but I drug myself away. :)

What a wonderful trip! I had such a relaxing, refreshing time. It was perfect.

Thank you SO SO much to Noni, Papa, and Mama for taking care of the girls for us!!! They had a great time and we did too!
