And That’s the Ballgame!

Tuesday was our last t-ball game of the season.  We had SUCH a great group of kids this year!  It was by far my favorite year!  T did a fabulous job coaching and I think the kids had a lot of fun.  I know our two did. I haven’t been doing a good job keeping up with my pictures so these are from several different games. For some reason our season this year was packed tight.  Last year we had about one game a week, rarely two.  This year we had Tuesday and Thursday games for four weeks straight. It was a jam packed month of T-ball, but it’s nice to be done now.

And one of our little bat girls.  She has a buddy just a few months younger and they loved to carry the bats around. :)

Peanut was a handful during the games!  I was so thankful for the times that Noni was able to come and keep her preoccupied.  When she couldn’t come I spent more time keeping A out of trouble than helping.

Boo really improved over the season.  She was the youngest one on the team, but she hung in there. :)

I think Buggy was our oldest player.  She was whacking the ball into the outfield at least once a game.  Next year she’ll move up to the minors level.

One reason the games were fun was because we usually knew at least half the kids on the other team.  It was fun for the girls to be able to play against friends.

After trying the hiking backpack, and then the free-to-roam method I finally started bringing the stroller so I could keep Peanut in one place.  She wasn’t too happy about it until I wised up and started bringing her a big snack to munch on.   That kept her quiet.  I’m pretty strict about snacking so it was a treat to get a snack at an “unapproved” time. This picture is from the game before I figured out that little trick.

Each of the kids took a turn playing catcher.  They could hardly move in all the gear, but they did a good job getting the ball back up on the T.

“Hat!  A(name)!”

T had a board meeting during one of the games so I had to step up and coach the team.  Thankfully I had my mom friends to back me up and we did just fine with the kids.  Boo was so funny, she ran up to me at the beginning of the game and said, “Where d’ya want me Coach?”

She wanted a picture with me after the game and wouldn’t let K get in it.  Silly girl. 

Noni and Papa were there to keep Peanut occupied during that game or we wouldn’t have made it!  We took the girls over to the playground after it was over.  Peanut was SO excited!

Papa and Noni took turns going with her down the slide because she insisted on going like the big girls!

Then she wanted in the swing.  She gasped at first and then she started laughing and saying, “Me!  Happy! Happy! Me!”

What a fun year of T-Ball!  I’m so glad T was able to coach and the girls were on the same team.  We had so much fun!

Shoppin’

When we were shopping with Grandma and Auntie Nae, Peanut discovered the joy of shopping. 

We say that she is our little tomboy because she is the only one of the girls who’s been interested in playing with toy cars and trucks.  Ever since she started crawling she would find little cars or trucks in the nursery at church and roll them back and forth.  She does it all the time at Grandma and Grandpa’s too and says, “Vroom vroom!”  At Noni and Papa’s one of her favorite things is a little toy train that you can hook together. The other two never did that!  We have three or four hot wheels cars…from Awana Grand Prix.  Peanut is the only one who plays with them. 

All that to say, she also has a girlie side.  Case in point:

She was so happy to fill up the cart with shoes!  She REALLY wanted me to get them all for her.  I told her they were too small for her but she didn’t care.  SHOES!  I guess she’s not such a tomboy after all. :)

Butterflies

Noni had extra caterpillars at school this year so we got to have 6 little friends join our household for a few weeks.  Peanut LOVED the butterflies!  After the started hatching she would gasp every time she came into the kitchen and say the exact same thing (multiple times a day), “Mommy!  Yook!  Bies! Tute!” which of course meant, Mommy look at the butterflies! They’re so cute!

We had to let them go before we left for our Memorial day at the farm so right before our t-ball game last Thursday we set them free.  Noni helped the girls get them out and hold them before releasing them.

Seyler had a hard time getting ahold of one but this one stayed on her finger for a few seconds.

Peanut wasn’t quite sure what to think of them when they were out and about.

But she warmed up pretty quick.

She wasn’t exactly gentle in her quest to hold one.

Thankfully it managed to get away unscathed, and took refuge in this nearby tulip.

Wordless Wednesday–Garbage Day

Dance Recital

Last Thursday the girls had their end of the year dance recital.  They were so cute in their little outfits!  Loved it.

Here’s Boo with her best little friend, T.  I let them wear makeup and they were so happy!

K had a cheer number first, and then a tap number later.

Boo’s ballet was first.  They did Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  They were so cute up there in their little red tutus.

Then it was time for K’s cheer group. Their song was Hawaiian Roller-coaster Ride.

Then K had a wardrobe change, and the two youngest groups did a routine to Rockin’ Robin.

At the end all the groups went up and did an ending number.  I don’t think Boo’s (and maybe not even Bug’s?) group had been taught the dance, so she was just trying to watch the older girls and mimic them. :)

And we had to get a picture with the girls’ fan club before we left…Grandpa’s hiding. :)  T had a work thing and couldn’t be there but Noni, Mama, Grandma, and Grandpa all came. 

Another year of dance is done!

Memorial Day

Well it seems like I am consistently a week behind with this blog…I feel that way in real life too, haha. :)

Last weekend T took Friday off to make it a 4 day weekend.  We met Noni for lunch and then she took the little ones to her house while Papa, T, K, and I went golfing.  I had a Groupon so we got a cart and played 9 holes.  It was the test drive for K’s new clubs.

She’s really doing a great job!  She is definitely our little athlete and excels at anything physical.

After golf we picked up the other two, ran a few errands, and headed out to the farm to have a work weekend in preparation for the grand opening of Auntie Nae and Uncle Wade’s new event venue!

Saturday morning Grandma, Auntie Nae, Waylon, Peanut, and I ran to town for supplies and a little shopping. 

T sent me this picture while we were shopping.

They got so dirty he had to wash their clothes.  He didn’t know where their other clothes were so he put them in his t-shirts which they proudly wore the rest of the day. K also wore his flip flops around all day.

The girls had a BLAST playing hard for three days while the adults worked around the place.  They had to have baths every night!

They made forts out of the boxes from the new tables.

On Sunday after church we had a BBQ dedication of the place and got to use the new tables and chairs.  Very pretty and comfortable too!

This was one of T’s jobs.  Most of these old doors came from our house.  He put some rebar into the bottoms of them so they can stand up on their own in the grass.  The middle one has chalkboard paint so people can use it as a sign.

This was some of the result of our shopping trip.  This is in the Bride’s room, and I thought it turned out really cute!

One of my jobs was to go around and take pictures of décor options for the bride’s to choose from.  Boo wanted a picture in the middle of this butterfly net.

They have done SO MUCH work and the farm looks absolutely amazing!  It’s the perfect place to get married!
