More Presents!

We had a wedding reception to go to on the first Saturday of Christmas break so we went home for a little while.  The girls were thrilled to discover that they had yet to open presents for Grandma and Grandpa!  We decided to do something a little different this year with T’s family so I’ll have to blog more about that later, but Grandma still got the girls several presents.  They were so excited to open them!

Boo got a Rapunzel crown which hardly left her head for the next week!

K was really excited about this modeling clay even though the picture doesn’t indicate it. :)

And Boo was SO excited about this little notepad for some reason. :)

Peanut got a really soft blankie.

And a fun toy phone which she put right up to her ear and started chatting on.

She had fun digging in the bag for all the surprises. :)

How fun to come home to more presents!

Christmas Morning–Part 2

The girls’ played Santa after breakfast and passed out all the presents.

Then it was time to dive in!

I was hard pressed to keep up with three girls opening presents!  I was trying to write everything down for thank you notes.  Hopefully I caught everything but if I didn’t please know that they were very happy about all their gifts!

Peanut found a little green comb and wanted to comb Daddy’s hair about a dozen times. :)

Boo Bear loves hair extensions.  I wonder if this will carry over into her teen years? :)

Peanut loves books just as much as her sisters!  This was a really fun puppet one from Aunt J and Uncle K!

For some reason Peanut desperately wanted to be IN the Barbie house.  At one point, when no one was looking she finally attained her goal.

Noni and Papa gave the girls their very own tablets!  Yes, they are spoiled! :)  They only have educational or bible games on them though and the Internet is not connected.  They are really nice for long car rides or when we have to wait somewhere like the doctor’s office.

They were thrilled of course and felt very grown up!  Purple for Boo and pink for Bug…“their” colors.

Aunt Karen got Peanut this fun book with things to put in the book pockets.  On the first page is a picture of Peanut!  She loves it!

T got me a remote for my camera!  I’ve really been wanting one so I was very excited!  Here we are trying it out from across the room. :)

T built two birdhouses for Mama and the girls painted them.  They are quite…colorful!  Hopefully the birds will like it. :)

Aunt Karen read the girls some of the new books she bought them.

The girls got some Christmas money from Pawpaw and Nana and are very excited to go to Target and pick something out!

We got so many wonderful gifts!  Thank you everyone!

Christmas Morning–Part 1

I’ve got so many Christmas morning pictures there is going to have to be a part one and part two!

Our first order of business was singing happy birthday to Jesus!  Bug was just a tad bit excited. :)

“Happy Birthday to you…”

Then it was the revealing of the big gifts!  Ready….set…go!

This is what they were running toward this year, a Barbie dream house that Auntie Nae found on one of those Craig’s list type sites.  Her friend was selling it and it was in GREAT condition.  Not a single scratch or tear on it. 

The girls loved it of course!  Her friend even included all of her daughter’s furniture and parts and pieces.  Thanks for finding it for us Auntie Nae!  It was a big hit!  Bug kept saying over and over, “This is the best day EVER!”

Peanut also got a recycled toy.  We have been trying so hard to clean out and simplify our messy house that we did NOT want to buy a bunch of new gifts and clutter it up again.  I found this sitting in the basement a few weeks before Christmas and thought I should clean it up and let Peanut have it, and since we had just been talking about not wanting to bring extra stuff into our house I thought it would make a good Christmas present for her.  She wasn’t sure what to do with it at first.

“Hmm.  Persistence is the key here!”

“Uh…this is weird.”

“I’m not sure this is right.”

“Show me how it works, Bug!”

“Oh yeah, that’s pretty fun!”

“Best present ever!”

After the big toys we settled down to open stockings. 

We all got some great things!  T and I bought the girls their own rolls of tape since they are always stealing my tape from the kitchen. :)

Peanut got lots of food gifts: Puffs, Yogurt bites, Gerber bars.  And she insisted on sampling each one!

Boo had been asking for this toothbrush/paste set for weeks and was so happy to unwrap it.  “I always wanted this!”

We all bought things for Ty’s stocking again and later that week we took the gifts to the Salvation Army children’s center. :)

After stockings we took a breakfast break and then dove into the presents.  That’s up next!

Christmas Eve

Our other two Christmas Eve traditions are to open one present (pjs) and read the Christmas story in the new jammies.  The girls were so excited to be able to open a present after staring at them under the tree for weeks on end!

Peanut was too busy cheesing to open hers!  Haha :)

Noni found adorable matching jammies that said “Seasons Squeakings”.

She finally realized that her sisters were doing something cool.

Ta da!

T read the story from Luke 2 and then it was off to bed to dream of sugar plum fairies. :)
