Harvest Partyin’

On Saturday we got to go to a fun Harvest Party thrown by Miss K. She always throws the BEST parties!!!

She had this cute little picture area set up. Sisters!

And Peanut…the cheeser. Both K and S went through a “CHEESE” face phase at around two. Peanut has already got it perfected. Anytime she sees my camera come out, or if I hold up my phone in her direction she does this face. It cracks me up!

It was brisk outside, but we bundled up and went for an old fashioned hayride pulled by even older tractor! So fun!

Miss K had several cute crafts for the kids to do…the girls love crafts!

They both worked hard on their crafts and stayed at the table long after the other kids were done.

Boo meticulously applied rows of stickers to all eight legs of her spider.

She was so happy to stick it to the web when she was done!

Miss K also had toys set up so there was never a shortage of things to do!

After eating a delicious dinner together Miss K had them do a candy walk.

What a FUN FUN party!!!!

Capitol Christmas Tree

On Friday one of my good friends sent me a text letting me know the the Capitol Christmas tree was being cut from our general area this year and that there was going to be a celebration to see the tree before it got wrapped up for it’s 5,000 mile journey! It was a bit of a drive, but sounded like fun so we went for it!

T took off early and we packed the kiddos in the car! Thankfully the younger ones slept almost the whole way. The tree was supposed to arrive at 2:30 but lucky for us it was late so we got to be there as they paraded it down the street. First we had to have some pictures with Smokey…”Only YOU can prevent forest fires!” :)

And a happy woodland owl? Hopefully he wasn’t displaced by the chopping down of the tree. Haha :)

We had just enough time for a potty break before the tree arrived. The girls were so excited to see it!

It was huge! 88 ft. tall to be exact!

Peanut was impressed too!

Buggy and I plan to track the progress of the tree as it makes it’s way to Washington in the next few weeks!

After they paraded it down the street they parked it and let people look it over. One of the Forest Rangers was handing out pinecones…excuse me SPRUCE cones, as we learned!

Even Peanut got a Spruce cone! Until she started chewing on it…

The truck itself was pretty neat with a mural painted on the side.

And an official emblem on the front.

We walked around for a bit before seeking warmth in a local pizza parlor.

We enjoyed a yummy dinner with our friends and all our silly kiddos, and afterwards we actually managed to get a picture with all five smiling!

What a fun impromptu outing! Thanks for inviting us P family!

Halloween Fun

On Halloween morning we woke up and made “pumpkin” pancakes before starting our school work. Buggy was especially excited with her giant pumpkin which she polished off and then ate two more (smaller ones)! She must be growing!

After finishing our schoolwork I painted the girls faces. Buggy wanted a picture by her pumpkin. The cat has curled inside so she had to hold it up. :)

After a few pictures we headed up to Daddy’s work to have lunch and get a few treats from the offices there.

Noni had spent the night so she finally got to see T’s remodel that he’s been working hard on. Everything looks so nice and fresh up at the hospital! Peanut spent her time impressing Daddy’s co-workers with her latest walking skills.

A few hours later Grandma and Grandpa arrived and the party got started! Happy Birthday Grandma!

Grandma opened her presents after we ate some hot taco soup to keep us warm while we went candy hunting!

The girls did some more Make-It plates and we got Grandma some new gold hoop earrings since Auntie Nae told us she had just lost her favorite pair.

Then it was off to collect some candy! We actually had great weather this year…low 50’s…which made it bearable, but it did get pretty cold as the sun disappeared. We were joined by two sets of friends and their kiddos. It’s always more fun to trick-or-treat in a group!

After the ladies at T’s work heard that Boo was going to be a Bee we got a knock on the door. One of them had dressed up with her husband as a Bee couple before and she brought us their costumes to borrow…so sweet! We were quite the buggy family!

The kids did great saying “Trick-or-treat” and “thank you” before scampering off to the next houses. :)

This is Boo’s offended face. I can’t even remember what K did…tripped her up or ran into her or something. They can be quite dramatic with each other at times. ;)

The little ladybug was gnawing on a full sized crunch bar for about 15 minutes before she finally got it open and got a mouth full of chocolate, but then she started gagging on a little piece of the plastic wrapper and was NOT happy when I took the whole thing away from her. :)

Of the three kids that we were trick-or-treating with, one was a Bee and the other was a Butterfly! So we were just a swarming garden of insects!

Boo, Peanut, and I made it almost an hour before we gave in and sought shelter…and heat! We helped Grandma pass out the rest of the candy, and she counted that we got over 100 trick-or-treaters this year! Peanut loved to see all the costumes of the people that were coming to the door, and she also kept bringing this book to Grandma and “asking” her to read it. Happy girl! :)
