Gynmastics!

 Peanut, Peaches, and Lou are trying gymnastics this year!

 

 

We decided to do this instead of dance this year and so far I am loving it because the place is so big that they can have four different classes going at the same time. That means we only have to be there for an hour an a half instead of three hours spent waiting for each girl to have their turn. Lou's class is shorter, only 45 minutes, so when she gets done we go watch Peaches for the last ten minutes of her class. Peanut's class is an hour and twenty five minutes so we have to wait a little longer for her, but it's so nice to get it all done in just an hour and half. 

Lou is loving her class with is actually called a "Ninja" class.

 

 

I've been really impressed with the level of technique that even the littlest kids are learning. They are teaching them very specific technique on how to eventually manage the larger equipment safely. Lou is very good at her "safety land" and on her dismount on the beam. Even though the beam is just an inch off the ground they teach them exactly how to mount and dismount properly.

 

 

As well as exactly how to position and move their bodies to prepare for bigger moves as they get older.

 

 

She loved dance last year but this is especially good for our little monkey!

 

 

Peanut and Peaches are really enjoying it as well! We started them off in the same class but then Peanut was able to move up to a Middle/High school beginner class with girls her own age.

 

 

They have all these cool things to practice form like foot and hand mats to show exactly where you should be landing for cartwheels, etc. 

 

 

I have already seen some improvement in their strength and muscle control.

 

 

The first week Lou was wiped out and fell asleep on the way home. 

 

 

But since then she has adjusted and is doing beautifully!

 

 

As soon as she turns 5 she'll be able to move up to a kinder class which will be good because the kids in her class are very little and have a hard time listening. :P

 

 

It's fun to watch them doing all the different exercises.

 

 

We're looking forward to seeing how they improve as the year progresses!
